He has served on multiple biotech, software, and industry boards. He spent seven years on a VC investment committee where he led the detailed due diligence on over 50 opportunities. His academic experience includes HBS MBA, HKSG 2 Year MPA, KCL Ph.D, MIT Visiting Scholar) has been an award winning case writer (INSEAD. LBS), and has taught and led workshops at the US Naval War College, Hult International Business School, London, and Flanders Business School, and has been an invited speaker at for example KCL, UCL, MIT, and the House of Commons Library Staff. He was a Senior Analyst at the US Congressional Office Of Technology Assessment and has briefed senior government officials in the US, UK, and The Netherlands and published and presented influential papers on a variety of public policy issues. His professional experience combines entrepreneurial execution, intellectual and investment rigor, strategic and tactical leadership and policy insight.
Civil Engineer (NTUA) with an MBA from SDA Bocconi. Founder and CEO of a construction company with over 25 years of experience in managing and delivering public sector contracts. Strong background in project execution, regulatory compliance, and operational management. Native Greek speaker and fluent in German, English, and Italian. Married with three children.
Dr. Harold P. Swerdlow is a genomics pioneer whose work has played a foundational role in the evolution of modern DNA sequencing. Early in his career, he published the first peer-reviewed demonstration of capillary gel electrophoresis (CGE) applied to Sanger DNA sequencing, establishing capillary-based separation as a high-resolution, high-speed approach that later became the core technology used in automated Sanger sequencers. This technology underpinned the large-scale sequencing of the Human Genome Project, including the 2000 draft. He later joined Solexa Ltd., where he served as Senior Director of Research, playing a pivotal role in the development of next-generation sequencing technologies based on massively parallel DNA sequencing. Following Illumina's acquisition of Solexa, these innovations formed the technological foundation of Illumina's sequencing platforms, now dominant in genomics. He subsequently held the role of Head of R&D at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute and a similar role at the nascent New York Genome Center, overseeing sequencing strategy, infrastructure, and technological direction at one of the world's leading genome centers. Across senior scientific, leadership, and advisory roles in academia and industry, Swerdlow's work has helped shape both the Sanger-based genomic era and the next-generation sequencing revolution that followed.
Dr Jeffrey Jon Harford is a multidisciplinary scientist and senior device engineer with over 30 years' experience across biophysics, biotechnology, microfluidics and instrumentation development. At Genetic Micro Devices Ltd in London, he played a hands-on role in the design, fabrication, and prototyping of microfluidic devices, including PDMS chip manufacture using in-house lithographic processes and the integration of optical imaging systems for biomolecular separations. He directly demonstrated label-free DNA imaging within microfluidic chips, bridging fabrication, wet-lab execution and device characterisation. Previously at deltaDOT, he led the end-to-end development of a novel UV-based capillary electrophoresis and DNA sequencing platform, from hardware, optics, and software through to CE-aligned compliance and industrial partnership delivery. His academic work includes landmark publications in Nature Structural Biology and Journal of Molecular Biology. Dr Harford combines deep experimental insight with practical engineering, regulatory awareness, and proven leadership in translating microfluidic technologies into working devices.
Dr. Armata is a molecular neuroscientist with over 15 years of experience in biomedical research at some of the best universities in North America. She completed a B.Sc. in Biology & a M.Sc. in Biotechnology at Patra's University (Greece), a Ph.D. in Neuroscience at Mount Sinai School of Medicine (New York, USA) and a postdoctoral fellowship/instructor position at Massachusetts General Hospital & Harvard Medical School (Boston, USA). She has served as a Research Faculty at Florida State University College of Medicine (Florida, USA) and a scientific researcher at the Atlantic Research Cancer Institute & L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre (Moncton, Canada). Her expertise is in gene expression, viral or non-viral mediated gene delivery, protein cell-based assays, functional analysis of polymorphisms, the CRISPR/Cas9 system, and high-throughput screening assays for drug discovery and cell viability. She has supervised numerous research projects, published peer-reviewed articles, received grant awards, presented in scientific conferences, served as a journal peer reviewer, and mentored graduate students.
Angeliki is currently full time employed at ProteofosDx as a Microfluidics Engineer. She holds a five-year diploma in Chemical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), with a specialisation in polymers and composite materials, and is a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece. Her experimental thesis, in NTUA's Polymer Technology lab, investigated the chemical recycling of PET and PLA polyesters. She has laboratory experience in polymer processing and characterisation and in analytical techniques including HPLC, UV-VIS, MS and FTIR, and uses Python and MATLAB for data analysis and simulation. During an internship at NovaMechanics she applied machine learning to chemical engineering research. She is fluent in English and Greek.
Sabina is full time employed at ProteofosDx as a Polymer Engineer. She graduated in Chemical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), with a specialisation in biotechnology. Her thesis, supervised by Professor Anastasia Detsi, investigated extracting Chios mastic with hydrophobic deep eutectic solvents and incorporating the extracts into a cosmetic formulation. She has laboratory experience with UV-Vis spectroscopy, HPLC and viscometry, and during an internship in the Water Analysis Department of the General Chemical State Laboratory she worked with GC-MS/MS, LC-MS/MS and ICP-MS/MS.
